Newcastle City Council's Executive has approved plans to fund a further pounds 1.3m of improvements to the Grade 1 listed Grainger Market.
The money will fund the refurbishment of market stalls as well as providing a fresh fish stall. Over the last two years, the city council has invested pounds 2m to improve the Grainger Market, and seen the number of void units in the market dropping from 26 two years ago to a current level of 19.
