SPONSORSHIP totalling pounds 2,000 in prize money, cups, trophies, horse rugs and rosettes at Bowes Manor's BSJA Junior Championship Show attracted many young North- East showjumpers to compete on the centre's outdoor surface at the highest level this week.

The first class on the day was a 75cm height Starter Stakes Championship which drew 25 entries and was won by local Gateshead rider Ellie Hunter, riding her own Bowes Razzle Dazzle, a 13.2hh steel eight-year-old dapple grey gelding. Ellie found that extra hundredth of a second over the nine-fence course to win the pounds 50 prize.
