Women Workers Denied Fair Deals ; Pay Gulf Remains Between the Genders

THE Government was last night urged to take stronger action to boost women's pay after new figures showed the gender wage gap closed by just 0.3% over the past year and actually widened in company boardrooms.

The difference between the earnings of full-time men and women closed from 17.5% to 17.2%, according to the Office for National Statistics, figures described as "shocking" by campaigners.
