Summary
VISITORS were transported back to a bygone era at a special event to unveil an exhibition at Beamish Open Air Museum.
As part of a four-day Power to the Past-themed event, which starts today, Edwardian street cleaners roamed the cobbled paths of the outdoor museum to reinvent the old ways of litter-picking. And a host of steam vehicles and horse-drawn machinery will be at work around the site, carrying out various tasks to show how things like road repairs were done in the early 20th Century. There will also be agricultural contractors cutting wood and milling along with the Colliery railway which is hosting a shunting engine.See the full content of this document
