A farmer who will today watch 47 of his cows taken away for slaughter after they contracted bovine tuberculosis, has called for more Government action to solve the problem.

Tony Yewdall, who runs West Webbery Farm, near Bideford, Devon, said the loss of a quarter of his pedigree milking herd would be "devastating".
