THE alleged accomplices of murderous gunman Raoul Moat's were "party to his offences" and not hostages, prosecutors have claimed.

In his closing speech at the trial of two men accused of being part of the killer's rampage, Robert Smith QC said claims by Karl Ness and Qhuram Awan they were hostages were false and claimed their "story is riddled with incredibility". Mr Smith described Ness as Moat's "loyal servant" and said Awan was "not the amiable buffoon he has tried to portray himself as".
