I TOOK the dog to the beach after the Villa match, partly because if I'd submitted my first impressions of what I can loosely call a performance, The Journal's lawyers would have had kittens, and because I thought I might have bumped into some of the players. Apart from changing a few names, the match report could have been cut-and-pasted from our relegation season last game. My sympathies are extended to the travelling support, who had to pay good money to go to watch that abject surrender. After the first 20 minutes and a couple of Ranger pass-backs to their keeper, we didn't trouble Friedel until injury time in the second half.See the full content of this document
