Summary

LAW firm Dickinson Dees has become one of only seven law firms in the country to be shortlisted for a national award by The Law Society for its excellence in equality and diversity. The shortlisted firms, which include some of the country's top 10 law firms, will be judged on the most innovative and successful examples of best practice in the promotion of equality and diversity. John Marshall, senior partner at Newcastle-based Dickinson Dees, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for such an important award. To have been recognised by The Law Society for the work that we do in promoting equality and diversity, is testament to the hard work we have put in to investing in this aspect of our business."

Dickinson Dees engages with numerous organisations on equality, diversity and inclusion initiatives, such as the Employability Project (EP), part of the Newcastle-based Percy Hedley Foundation through which the firm provides work placements for students of Northern Counties College. Ruth Woodfine, EP manager at the Percy Hedley Foundation, said: "I am absolutely delighted with the way Dickinson Dees has embraced the work we do and it comes as no surprise that the firm has been shortlisted for an award for excellence in this area."
