POLICE in Durham yesterday launched a probe into the death of a grandmother just yards from her home. Jean Bennett, 50, was found by a passing motorist lying unconscious outside a telephone kiosk in High Street, Spennymoor, County Durham shortly after 8pm on Thursday.
