Summary
Admiral Sir Jonathon Band, commander-in-chief fleet, has officially started the production of the second Royal Navy Type 45 destroyer, HMS Dauntless, by VT Shipbuilding's Portsmouth yard. VT Shipbuilding is making the bow sections, funnels and mast for the first six Type 45 destroyers. The parts will then be transported to BAE Systems in Clyde.
