A cyclist killed in a road accident last week has been named by police.

Neil Mark Patterson, 40, of Springwell Road in Sunderland, was riding on the A1231 in the city when he was hit by a Vauxhall Vectra. He later died in hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call Northumbria Police on (0191) 454-7555, ext 66331.
