A CRIMINAL with an "appalling" record has been jailed after he was caught selling heroin.

Michael Ryan has 74 convictions for 279 offences. And now the 43- year-old is starting a 21-month jail term after he admitted possession of heroin with intent to supply. Newcastle Crown Court heard that on July 27 last year Ryan was spotted by a CCTV operator who recognised him as being wanted by police.
