DESPITE the sun making a long overdue appearance the weather still had plenty to say in the Northern Rock North East Premier League as the effects of a month of rain were still evident with many grounds so saturated play was impossible.
The games at South Shields, where Blaydon were the visitors, Newcastle, where Chester-le-Street were due, and Benwell Hill, where the league leaders Sunder land were supposed to be playing all failed to make a start.
