Summary
Motor cycling: a 14-year-old rider was critically hurt in a startline crash involving seven competitors which stopped the British 125cc Championship race at Cadwell Park yesterday. Chris Jones, of Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, was flown by the Yorkshire Air Ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary. The Motorcycle Circuit Racing Control Board (MCRCB), which organised the race, confirmed three riders had been injured and Jones' condition was considered critical. All the injured riders were treated first at the scene and then at the circuit medical centre by the British Superbike Championship medical team before being sent to hospital. Gregorio Lavilla moved two points clear in the scrap for the Bennetts British Superbike crown as he enjoyed a pair of second placings in the 10th round.
