A RESPECTED business and community group which has been at the forefront of life in a Northumberland town for 14 years is disbanding - and signing off with a pounds 5,400 donation to its local hospital.

Blyth Pride was launched in 1996 with the aim of making the town a better, friendlier and more prosperous place, at a time when it had many empty shops and a reputation as a drug abuse and unemployment blackspot.
