THE demand for commercial property on Tyneside has remained steady throughout 2010, with investors of all sizes continuing to turn to Tyne and Wear Development Company for support.

The investment agency, which will celebrate its 25th birthday next year, has been involved in some of the biggest property deals of 2010 working alongside regional partners to attract major investors to the region. One of the flagship deals of the year was the announcement that Balfour Beatty will open a shared service centre, bringing together its nationwide accounting, payroll and procurement functions. The engineering and construction giant will create over 200 jobs at its new home on Quorum Business Park.
