VERY soon blue wheelie bins will begin turning up at houses in Gateshead. Replacing the black boxes which families have been using for their recycling since 2003, the bins will increase the range of items which can be recycled as well as making it easier. Depending on where you live in the borough you will receive your bin from Gateshead Council between now and October. Recycling bins are also being rolled out to homes in South Tyneside and Sunderland as part of a drive to increase recycling south of the Tyne. As well as the items which people ecycle from home usiS ng their boxes, such as paper, tin cans tles, the wheelie bins will take d plastic bottles.
