Campaigners fighting to be rid of a rubbish tip near their town centre have invited a government minister to visit the site ( and smell it for himself.

Colin Wakefield, chairman of RATS (Residents Against Toxic Site), has written to Environment Secretary David Miliband to highlight his campaign against the 1.5 million-tonne tip at Houghton Quarry.
