City of Sunderland College is ploughing pounds 500,000 into developing training courses for the call centre industry.

With funding secured from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), the college is set to improve facilities at its new Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE) for management, supervisory and technical skills in the call centre industry based at Doxford Park. New video conferencing and boardroom facilities will be developed while new computer and telephone systems will also be bought to train students in the latest call handling techniques and skills.
