Chromium Company Hit by Rise in Fuel Prices

Elementis, which is cutting more than 100 jobs on Teesside, has said its business had been hit by rising fuel prices.

The company, which in November announced plans to axe half the 240 workers at its chromium plant in Eaglescliffe, Stockton, had blamed the cost-cutting on oil prices and an unfavourable dollar exchange rate.
