CAMPAIGNERS in the North East have condemned the decision to scrap proposed legislation to help tackle inequality in the public sector.

Home Secretary and Minister for Equalities, Theresa May, said on Wednesday she was scrapping part of the new Equality Act legislation intended to force public authorities to take into account disadvantage and inequalities when making decisions about policies.
