A department store faced with closure is set to be bought back by the man who took it into administration in the first place.

David Thompson bought Owen Owen, parent company of the Robbs and Joplings department stores in Hexham and Sunderland respectively, in 2005, but debts of pounds 6.8m forced the firm into liquidation in February.
