Three North-East businessmen were holed up in a Texas hotel last night waiting for Hurricane Rita to hit.
Graeme Cole, 29, from Lichfield Road, Newton Hall, Durham, was told it was too late for himself and two colleagues, Andrew Wright, 45, and Ian Brown, 42, both from Darlington, to evacuate their hotel in Houston. Mr Cole's wife Clare, 26, and nine-year-old daughter Bethany were at home in Durham last night anxiously watching news bulletins.See the full content of this document
