Summary
Sunderland Empire, which closed last week for a pounds 4m expansion of its stage and fly tower, will reopen not in January with Miss Saigon but in December with the first UK tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Starlight Express.
The show ran in the West End from 1984 to 2002 during which it took pounds 140m at the box office. The new and redesigned touring version will run in Sunderland from December 8 until January 8 but tickets are yet to go on sale.See the full content of this document
