RAZILIAN steel group CSN was yesterday said to be preparing to trump the pounds 4.3bn takeover of Corus by Indian rival Tata Steel.

CSN was said to have appointed investment bank Lazards to advise it over launching a counter-bid for the Anglo-Dutch firm, which employs 2,900 staff on Teesside.
