Billingham were first off the mark when Martin Lewis seized on a loose puck after a face-off in the Whitley zone and drilled it puck beyond the Whitley keeper at 4.25. However the Warriors were level seven minutes later, Andrew Tindale sweeping the puck home after a flowing move.

The visitors felt they could have been in front after Paul Graham was pulled down from behind as he bore in on the Bombers goal, but the referee refused to signal a penalty shot.
