Annual crime figures in a rural area of Northumberland could treble in just one night if a controversial music festival gets the go-ahead, it is claimed.

Police chiefs fear the peaceful community of Matfen ( which suffers around 20 crimes a year ( could be hit by up to 60 in the space of a few hours if the massive dance and rock event takes place.
