BATTLESTEADS Hotel and Restaurant in Wark, near Hexham, has picked up yet another top industry award - this time for its bespoke and unique wine list which has on it only wines with eco credentials, such as biodynamic, organic or Fairtrade. The Academy of Food and Wine Service (AFWS) annual Awards for Excellence 2011 took place in the grand surroundings of The Butcher's Hall in central London.
Battlesteads owners Richard and Dee Slade joined were announced winners of the Pub Wine List of the Year category, which was run for the first time in 2011, in conjunction with the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII).See the full content of this document
