ALTHOUGH incessant rain ruined angling on the Wear as well as the Swale and Ure, the Tyne was fishable in parts last weekend. Big Waters stalwarts Jim Armstrong and Roy Small had a successful day on Sunday fishing a fast rising river on the Federation's Ovingham Bridge stretch - catching minnows, eels, dace and roach to maggot/ feeder tactics.
At Yarm bream have still been providing sport in the lower reaches where the Tees barrage ensures flooding has been under control and fishing relatively unaffected.See the full content of this document
