AMBULANCE bosses were coming under increasing pressure to resolve a meal-break crisis last night as a union leader accused them of "lacking the commitment to sort this out".
The case of 13-year-old Ben Stir-land, who was choking to death on a pen top while an ambulance crew remained oblivious to his plight just three miles away, sparked renewed calls for the North- East Ambulance Service (NEAS) and Unison to resolve the dispute, which prevents crews from attending emergencies while on a meal break.See the full content of this document
