Summary
STILT walkers, musicians, circus performers and family favourites will be entertaining the crowds at South Shields seafront this week (Thursday) to celebrate completion of the fantastic pounds 2m Sea Change improvement scheme.
The fun will be taking place on Thursday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm around the promenade with the Mayor, Councillor Tom Pigott, cutting the official ribbon. Sea Change is an exciting project to regenerate coastal towns through investment in culture and heritage. It is led by the Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) as part of a partnership and funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS). South Tyneside Council received a pounds 1m grant and matched this with pounds 1m council funding to make the improvements.See the full content of this document
