The first major Open match on the river Tyne for years proved to be a great success with no less than 18 double figure nets from just under 100 participants taking part from Wylam to Hexham on Sunday.
Promoted by the Tyne Anglers Alliance the match was sponsored to the tune of pounds 2,000 by the Environment Agency as part of National Angling Week and the agency is using the catch data for population recording purposes.See the full content of this document
