A HERO who's quick thinking helped rescue two paramedics when they crashed after the tail of their plane fell off has been rewarded for his efforts.

Steve Clarehugh, 47, chief instructor at Eshott Airfield, heard the Mayday call made by Jim Martin when his plane went down near the small airstrip in Northumberland on December 30 last year.
