Teacher in Porn Outrage Is Back in Class ; Sacked Head of English Gets New Job
PARENTS reacted with anger last after it was revealed a teacher sacked from a County Durham school for logging on to porn websites has been given a job at a Northumberland school. Darren Adamson lost his job as head of English following initial claims of gross misconduct in September 2007. He admitted using school computers to look up pornographic websites during school time, though no children were present at the time.

FIRE crews pulled a man from the Tyne in Newcastle's East End. The 47-year-old man was spotted in the water at Riverside Park, Belmont Street, Walker, Newcastle, shortly before 1am on Sunday morning.

A FIELD was ablaze in County Durham yesterday. Three hectares of grass caught fire in the field, behind Winslow Crescent in Seaham yesterday afternoon.

A MAN had to be cut free after a 4x4 overturned in a residential street. The diesel Landrover 110 left the road at Beverley Terrace, Cullercoats, and flipped onto its roof shortly before 2am on Sunday morning.
Injuries Mystery ; North Today: Police
POLICE yesterday launched a probe after a man was found unconscious by the side of the road. The 29-year-old local man was discovered slumped by the side of Silksworth Rowe, Sunderland, at around 6.30am on Sunday. He was suffering from serious head injuries.
Replica of Naval Ship Is Pulled to Safety
A REPLICA of an early 19th-Century naval ship had to be pulled to safety by a rescue crew. A lifeboat was launched after the boat was blown against the inside of Sunderland South Pier by 35mph winds. A rescue operation took place just after 1pm on Saturday when a crew from Sunderland RNLI Lifeboat Station were alerted to the situation.

TRIBUTES were paid yesterday to a North East woman killed with her friend in a car crash on her way to a dance music festival. Nicola Edgar was travelling with her friend Dominique Williams, 20, from Maghull, Merseyside, when their car hit a lamppost and flipped over onto its roof at 11.35am on Saturday.

ALORRY driver strangled his nine-year-old stepdaughter, leaving her body in the back of his cab, before hanging himself, police revealed last night. The girl's body was discovered on Saturday afternoon in the lorry, which was parked at a Little Chef on the A605 near Warmington, Northamptonshire.
